Chandris hotels

Dassia, as described before, is one of the most popular tourist resorts on the island. One of the best hotels there is Chandris Hotel, situated only few minutes away from the centre of the town. And only 12 km from Kerkyra: the capital of the island. All the facilities a tourist could claim are available, partly free of charge. Accommodation in a four-star-hotel provides comfort and satisfaction. Chandris is a matter of fact a chain of hotels providing tourists with ‘ Greek spirit and true hospitality’. The one in Corfu is certainly a jewel of the chain, overlooking a sapphire Ionian Sea. It is situated in a close proximity to a beach stretching along Dassia bay, at night perfect for romantic strolls.

Another town that can boast fine accommodation options is Agios Georgios, or St. George. This town, situated on the north-west coast of the island ( because there is also another Agios Georgios, also situated in the west coast) has a large, sweeping sandy cove to offer, perfect for a family rest on a beach. There are no old buildings in the town as it was built as a resort for tourists not so long ago: there one will find no typical Greek spirit. Though there is truly nothig to be seen in this town there is a possibility to go for a walk through the hills surrounding the village- for more fit tourists, yet the views are just spectacular! The town has a few Greek tavernas, watching sunsets while consuming typical Grek dishes is definately an unforgettable experience. Bars and nightclubs in Agios Georgios are situated along the beach. Lack of historical monuments is made up for with innumerable palces of night entertainment.

Ipsos, Dassia and Agios Georgios : popular tourist resorts

Ipsos, situated in the northern part of the east coast of Corfu is thriving on the ceaseless popularity among tourists from all around the world. Ten to fifteen years ago it was perceived as a place perfect only for party-goers, full of night clubs and other places of entertainment. Yet this oppinion needs to be verified soon as Ipsos is changing its image. Still, it is a resort full of life and loud music yet not only any more.

In this resort you will find couples in love strolling along the beach and admiring the vast palette of colours that the setting sun uses to paint the sea and seashore. There are also parents with teenagers who decidedly like the fame of Ipsos as a partying centre and constantly alienate themselves from their parents.

The beach is sandy, stretches along a busy road and then curves around the bay. The village is situated where hills find their end in the Aegean Sea and there their slopes dramatically fall down into rough sea to fade away in its foamy depths.

Located in the viccinity of Ipsos Dassia also stretches along the shore of the bay. It is only 14 kilometres away from Kerkyra< previously Corfu> the capital of the island. The view from the village is outstanding: during a clear day it is possible to spot details of the European coast of Greece and Albania. The village itself is situated on a plain, surrounded by woods that cover the hills ringing the village. Most popular activities offered for tourists are all types of water sports.

St George < or Agios Georgios in Greek> is situated on the South West of the island. It boasts long, sandy beaches and neverending olive groves that surround the town. In the viccinity of St George there are sand dunes < worth to be seen> as well as a saltwater lagoon , lake Korrision, that is truly gripping for the lovers of wildlife.
